Product Description
In 2006, an angel-faced but tough forty-two-year-old former small-town mayor named Sarah Palin became a long-shot candidate for Alaska governor demanding a higher ethical standard in state government. The timing of her reform message and a widening scandal produced a tornado that reshaped the political landscape. Surprising everyone, Palin thumped by wide margins both a sitting governor in the Republican primary election and a former governor in the general election to become Alaska's first female chief executive and its youngest ever. Through the campaign, and early in Palin's first term, the energetic and attractive mother of five achieved near-heroine status in her state. At one point, the new governor's approval rating reached 90 percent, prompting the Fox News Network to describe her as "a Politician with eye-popping integrity" and some national GOP leaders to tout her as a prototype of the "new Republican."

1 out of 5 stars She'd make a good president, but George W Bush is better.   December 26, 2008

Sarah Palin would make a great presidential candidate, except for the fact that Bush has done a great job the past 8 years. Sarah Palin knows politics like Michael Jordan knew how to play baseball, like a champion! Plus, Sarah Palin is a down to earth person, which makes me like her even more. I feel so bad for her that her Yahoo! mail got hacked, with a hard password like 'popcorn', you'd expect her to be safe on the internet, lols!

George W. Bush/Sarah Palin for 2008 election!

1 out of 5 stars Why Would Anyone Want To Read A Book About A Washed Up Politician?   December 24, 2008

Why in the world do people actually think she was a good candidate for Vice President? Are the American people becoming that brain-dead? Anyone who thought she was a good pick for VP, my question to you is do you honestly believe she has the intelligence to lead a country if something happened to John McCain?

This woman was a menace from the first day I laid eyes on her. She is everything that is wrong with this country. She's a radical, moose-killing, gun-toting, glorified redneck with a bad case what I call "airhead syndrome."

She's the main reason McCain lost the election. Well, she has plenty of time to play the role of "hockey mom" now doesn't she?

5 out of 5 stars Must read for each conservative on your list   December 19, 2008

For people who just can't get enough Sarah Palin news! I bought as one of several birthday presents but this is the one present the person enjoyed most! She could not wait to read! Great gift for anyone who enjoys reading about a self made woman--quite an accomplishment in politics these days!!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Sarah Palin. She's such a genuine individual and very talented and down-to-earth. Thanks for writing this book.

4 out of 5 stars A positive outline of an amazing political success   December 9, 2008

A short book (only 145 pages) for a short career. The author does not attempt to probe too deeply. She provides a brief history of Sarah Palin's "... unlikely rise to Alaska's highest office.", and a brief biography of the young Governor along the way. The message of the book is a positive advertisement for democracy. It worked in this instance. The voters of Alaska got the change they were looking for (so far).
