The perfect mobile December 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was leery of this mobile because it had lights and music - would it be loud and obnoxious, and would it keep baby up? I didn't have to worry. This mobile is anything but stimulating for a baby - the lights are very dim, in fact if the room isn't completely blacked out you can't even see them. It's about as bright as one candle. The patterns that float across the ceiling and walls are so delicate and soothing. The music is very well done and I absolutely love listening to it. I admit at times I've slept in the recliner in the nursery soothed to sleep by this mobile.
I do wish there was an endless loop feature, but in its defense, no mobile goes on forever that I've seen. Most only go for a couple of minutes, and this goes much longer - maybe 5 - 10 minutes? - I haven't timed it. But it is quite awhile.
The only other thing I would change is that the fish could maybe move a tiny bit faster - I'm all for slow and soothing, but I'm not sure my babies can even detect movement.
I have twins and only one mobile. I feel a little guilty about that but at least both babies can see the lights across the ceiling and hear the music, if not see the fish.
good value December 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this mobile works, our son likes it. the assembly is a little cumbersome and the motor makes a audible sound...the only negatives so far. had it for a month.
Really good mobile...but doesn't have underwater sounds? December 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The mobile works good and our infant seems to really like it. The biggest issue I have is that in the description is says: "5 selections to play (lullabies and underwater sounds)" I can't seem to get any underwater sounds to play? All we have is different lullabies. Other than that, it's great.
I also agree with the comments about the mobile not having a power adapter. That'll be a bummer if we decide to use it as our son grows up. The remote is great and it does beat the wind-up mobile we had before..
I LOVE this Mobile! December 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We got this mobile at our baby shower. I secretly thought we'd get maybe a couple months of casual use out of it, as mobiles are only recommended until the baby can sit up enough to reach them. After that, you have to take them down. However, since this one converts so that you can set it on a table/ dresser, we have gotten amazingly long use out of it for 2 years.
My son immediately loved this mobile- not only does it have the fish that rotate and soothing music, but it displays lights on the ceiling of the room in the shapes of stars. It also has a dim light that can be viewed by the baby from below the mobile.
One awesome thing about this mobile is that when you have to take it down for safety, it converts so that you can set it on a dresser or table and still use it safely out of the child's reach. We have actually installed a corner shelf in my son's room (well out of reach) above his new toddler bed and still use it nightly- he's 2 and still loves his "fishies." The absolute BEST thing about it is the remote control, which has a large easy to press button my son can use himself. We turn the mobile on while he's falling asleep, and if it turns off before he's ready, he can simply press the button on the remote to turn it back on.
The mobile does go through batteries rather quickly, I assume b/c there is so much going on- lights on the ceiling, a dim light viewed from below, music, and rotation- but if you use rechargable batteries & a battery charger, it's no problem.
Fantastic, but... November 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is another wonderful and sweet mommy saver from Fisher Price but I do wish I could change just a couple things. First, you cannot make the mobile stay on longer...if you could set it to stay on for however long you decided it would be far more convenient. Typing about convenience brings me to the second problem I have, once it has not been on for a while you can't just click the remote to activate. You have to get up, hit the button on the mobile then the remote works again. Not fun. But on the plus side, my daughter loves it...daddy loves it...I love it...my six year old loves it. The fishies and bubbles are just too cool floating around the room. Even knowing the flaws I would definately buy it again.
